Aysgarth advances to Capital Cup semifinals after beating Brentwood

The Capital Cup match between Aysgarth and Brentwood was the most intense in a scoreless first half, but Aysgarth was able to tie it in the 72nd minute.

Josh Thompson, a player who graduated from Centennial High School, now plays at Aysgarth and assisted on the tying goal.

The second half was more one-sided.

With about 15 minutes remaining, Kevin Urgo found the net to give Aysgarth the lead, and moved Aysgarth to 2-0, with a place in the Capital Cup semifinals.

Aysgarth was also the Capital Cup title-winners in 2012. In 2011, Aysgarth went 5-0 in pool play and beat Brentwood 2-0 in the championship game. That same year, Aysgarth played at Century High School, also in the area.

The Capital Cup will move to Washington Christian School for the regular season in 2019.
